Ancient Plagues

This module will survey historical and literary plagues in the ancient Mediterranean world. We will read selections from Greek and Latin literature (in translation) and view ancient Mediterranean art. In addition to gaining interdisciplinary knowledge of ancient plagues, students will become acquainted with the conventions of academic discourse, the methods of source criticism, and the steps of independent humanistic research.
